Legacy uses a 20-gauge steel skin around an insulating foam core. Composite end caps and a reinforced lock area are part of its construction. Start with the entrance you have. Is this a front door that sets the tone for the house, a side entrance used every day, or a connection to a garage? Choose the surface and finish beside your actual siding, masonry and interior trim. Then handle the hardware samples: the shape, reach and operation matter every day. Include hinges, the lock preparation, swing direction and any storm-door clearance in the same conversation.
Steel is durable, but its finish still deserves care. Review the manufacturer’s cleaning and touch-up instructions, and address damage promptly. Keep your finish name, hardware details and order information so future service does not become a guessing game.
