Seal First. Then Insulate.

Insulation slows heat transfer; an air barrier limits unwanted air movement. In a suitable vented attic, preparation and air sealing come before blown-in insulation. The plan should keep ventilation paths open and address moisture, exhaust routing and required clearances. Depth alone does not tell you how well the attic works.

Retrofit Walls With Care

Blown or dense-packed insulation can improve suitable existing wall cavities, but drill-and-fill is not a universal fix. Older homes may have unknown wiring, moisture paths, blocking or deteriorated materials. We review access and the wall assembly before recommending a method, with a plan to protect finishes and address conditions that should be corrected first.

Choose Foam for the Assembly

Spray foam can combine insulation and air control in an appropriate application. The product, substrate, moisture conditions, required protection and occupancy guidance all matter. Exterior rigid insulation is a different option, often considered during re-siding. Added wall thickness changes window, door, trim and fastening details, so it belongs in a coordinated wall design.

Start With a Home Energy Audit

Depending on the visit, testing may include air-leak measurement and an insulation inspection. Ask what is included before scheduling.
