Engineered Wood. Lasting Character.
Love the character of painted wood? Engineered wood offers another way to bring that look home. GeekSuite helps you plan LP SmartSide siding around your home’s proportions, trim details and everyday upkeep—not simply pick a color from a brochure.
Start with the architecture: a calm run of lap siding, a vertical accent at the entry, or a textured gable. Then we coordinate the details that make the exterior feel intentional, from corner boards to window trim.
Good looks need a well-planned wall behind them. We inspect existing conditions and include the flashing, drainage and repair work your project needs in a clear scope.

Profiles, Texture & Finish Choices
FIND YOUR HOME’S RHYTHM
Lap siding creates familiar horizontal lines. Panel-and-batten layouts draw the eye upward, while shake-style accents can give a gable its own character. We compare proportions and trim transitions so the mix feels deliberate.
TEXTURE YOU CAN SEE
LP SmartSide offers Cedar Texture and Brushed Smooth options. One emphasizes grain and shadow; the other creates a quieter painted-wood look. We’ll check which profiles and finishes are available for your chosen combination.
FINISH IT YOUR WAY
Compare factory-finished ExpertFinish colors, the wood-look Naturals collection, or primed products finished to your selected paint scheme. We start with a few coordinated directions—not a wall of tiny swatches—and confirm the final choice with physical samples.
WHY THE BRAND MATTERS
A product is more than its brochure. We consider our experience with the line, access to matching trim, supplier service and ongoing support. Your proposal should identify the exact product and finish, not simply say “wood siding.”

Ownership, Cost & Common Questions
WHAT DRIVES THE PRICE?
The finish package, profile mix, trim, access and condition of the existing wall all matter. Removal, repairs and added insulation should be identified separately. We’ll help compare the complete scope so a lower starting price does not hide important work.
IS IT MAINTENANCE-FREE?
No exterior deserves to be ignored. Plan to inspect the finish, joints and vulnerable areas, keep vegetation clear and follow the selected product’s care instructions. Touch-ups and eventual repainting depend on the finish, exposure and condition—not one universal timetable.
HOW IS THE WALL PROTECTED?
Siding is the outer layer, not the whole water-management system. Flashing at windows, doors and roof intersections, a continuous drainage plane and product-specific clearances all need attention. Fastening and cut-edge treatment must follow the instructions for the exact LP product selected.
CAN WE ADD INSULATION AT THE SAME TIME?
Siding replacement can open the door to air sealing or exterior insulation. We assess how added thickness affects fasteners, window trim, flashing and drainage before recommending an assembly. Comfort improvements depend on the whole house.
WHAT WILL MY PROPOSAL INCLUDE?
Look for the product, profile, finish, trim, removal, repair allowances and cleanup plan. We explain what is included, what still needs investigation and how unexpected conditions will be handled.
