8 Wildly Fun Things To Do In Woodbury

Just a short drive outside of the Twin Cities sits the bustling suburb, Woodbury. Now, Woodbury doesn't depend on the activities and establishments in St. Paul or Minneapolis because it has a whole world of exciting things to do right in town.

Whether you've lived in Woodbury your whole life or are looking for something new to do in the Twin Cities area, there are many fun things to discover throughout the city. GeekSuite Exteriors has served the area for many years, so we created this list of eight wildly fun things to do in Woodbury, MN.

1) Become a Ninja Warrior at Conquer Ninja Gyms

That's right; you can become a competitive ninja warrior by training your skills at Conquer Ninja Gyms. This unique gym is open for people ages 5 and up, so it is the perfect activity for ninjas both young and old. (They have full-size and smaller-scale obstacles to accommodate different age groups.)

You can attend an open gym, take classes, host birthday parties, and join a team all in one place! Participants can even compete in Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association (UNAA) Qualifier Competitions. You or your child will be the next ninja warrior champion before you know it, and it all starts in Woodbury.

2) Visit Edgewater Park for Your Nature Fix

Minnesota is known for its beautiful nature, and Woodbury is no stranger to stunning local parks. One of the most well-known parks in Woodbury is Edgewater Park. Locals and visitors alike love coming to Edgewater Park to jog, walk, and have picnics.

This park is beautiful during all seasons, but we find that it's especially striking in autumn. With a playground, tennis courts, and a basketball court on the premises, this is a great place to bring the kids to get fresh air and exercise. Or, enjoy some alone time with a walk along Colby Lake.

3) Catch a Flick at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

You might not think going to the movies is all that special, but just wait until you visit the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. Not only do they play new releases, but this cinema is special because they play throwback films on the big screen.

Not to mention, the Alamo Drafthouse serves food directly to your seat! And they don't just serve popcorn and soda, but a full, multi-course menu with craft beers, cocktails, and milkshakes. We'll see you there!

4) Get Creative at Color Me Mine

Another fun Woodbury activity for the whole family is painting ceramics at Color Me Mine. You'll pick out the perfect ceramic piece and select your paint colors. Then, you'll bring your ceramic piece to life with your painting skills.

Enjoy Ladies Night every Thursday, Family Fun Day each Friday, and Pajama Night every Saturday! There's no shortage of fun to be had at Color Me Mine.

5) Take the Kids to Madison's Place Playground

Madison's Place Playground is one of the most sought-after playgrounds in the entire Twin Cities metro. This inclusive playground, intended for children of all ages and physical abilities, was funded by the Madison Claire Foundation. The goal of this foundation is to create accessible and inclusive play structures that extend beyond the limits of traditional playgrounds.

This incredible playground features things like:

  • Wheelchair ramps throughout the play structure

  • Sun-shade coverings

  • Sensory play equipment

  • A splash pad nearby

  • Freestanding equipment

Every Sunday from June through October, Woodbury hosts a local Farmers Market at 8595 Central Park Pl. Locals love browsing through farm-fresh vegetables, meats, fruits, and other produce supplied by local farmers.

You'll also find baked goods, flowers, and items like jewelry, honey, and soaps made by local artisans. When you shop at the Woodbury Farmers Market, you're not only supporting local small businesses, but you also get to know exactly where your healthy food is coming from.
